Deletion

[edit]

I haven't deleted it - someone else probably will. I like what I've seen of your photography in the course of checking things and I think there could be notability. Unfortunately, you don't show it. The references aren't good enough. Anything at your own site is not counted - it's not a reliable independent source. One can't be accessed because they're doing something to the site. The others show good pics, but not what I'd call real coverage. One appears to be a blogging site, which is out for reliability. What's needed is something about you him, and going more into depth. Those ones are either about someone else with a mention, or are really nothing much more than mentions. They'll do as filler if you can get a couple of the real thing. Have a look at WP:RS. If you can't get them yet, come back when you can. (My favourite is the girl on what might be a chaise longue with one leg bent up. The whole composition is either very carefully set up, or the utter luck of clicking at the right time - both of which are vital skills in photography. (I'm an amateur, but I can appreciate the professional side as I try to achieve a professional standard. I can be seen in some very strange positions getting an interesting shot - including balancing on one leg on a small rock in the middle of a fast flowing river...) Good luck. Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with Rory Lewis Photographer. If you believe the page should not be deleted, you may contest the deletion by clicking on the button that says: Click here to contest this speedy deletion, which appears inside the speedy deletion notice. This will allow you to make your case on the article's talk page. Administrators will consider your reasoning before deciding what to do with the article. Thank you. Please stop removing speedy deletion notices from pages that you have created yourself, as you did with Rory Lewis Photographer. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. MikeWazowski (talk) 22:31, 23 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article Rory Lewis Photographer has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Does not appear to satisfy notability guideline WP:BIO. Some claims are referenced to his own web postings. Some are to refs which do not support the statements. Needs multiple reliable and independent sources with substantial coverage. Reads like an advertisement.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
